Core 4- Research Procedures and Tools

This folder contains the materials from (Optional Core Day 4) which focuses on Research Procedures (Methods) and the Tools. This session took place in May 2010. Researchers need to outline in detail the procedures they used for collecting data in the text of their account. They need to justify their choices with reference to research literature.

Data Collection: PPT slideshow outlining Data Colelction Procedures
Research Procedures: List of terms and topics to include in your description of data collection procedures. (PDF File) You will need Adobe Reader (a free download) from http://www.adobe-reader.org/ You must outline in detail the way in which you collected data.
Tools: Examples of Research Tools that might be used. These are questionnaires, observation schedules and interview schedules. You need to include them in the text explaining the data colelction procedures and justify them by reference to the research literature.
More Materials: This is a link to the resource materials used in action enquiry and dissertation modules. Please take the link and use it if you want more information and materials.
A Virtual Tour: If you use Google or other search engines you will find a lot of good material on research methods. This is an example as a "virtual tour" of some interesting and useful sites. Use the ideas and adapt them to your own research. Please make sure you reference any material you use.
