Powerpoint

I've gone through the powerpoint and overall find it useful. Personally, this is how I like things presented - I work better with chunks of information, rather than the pages downloaded and printed off for the handbook. Some of the suggestions would not be practical for me, such as the group/paired work.
It has also made me think about the presentations of our work upon submission. As we submit electronically, are we allowed to use any video footage or similar or should it be presented in a 'ready to print' style?
Many thanks
Julie

I found it useful as reviewing literature is certainly something I need to work on.

I found the ppt under literature review to be useful but what I'm not clear about is slide 7, bullet point 4-Time frame-1990s' only. I know that some researchers recommend that references for literature review should be about 10 years old and few of them should be above that. Can this be clarified?

literature review

The ppt was useful but I'm not sure I am knowledgable enough to critically review the information from the various sources. I have found most literature supports research from psychologists etc of the 60's.I suppose this is taken 'as read' so becomes irrelevant for the current position. I have found the internet a useful source of information but it's hard to find evidence to support an argument or find a specific piece of research for my focus. I also wish I'd kept the website addresses as I would have saved a lot of time trying to find the source for my Reference List...I won't make that mistake again!

I have found the powerpoint useful - thank you. Defining the parameters for the research is particularly important. I find I've been reading through material without a clear focus which has meant relating it back to the key aspects of the study more difficult. However, sharing literature with others and going off in other directions, has helped me redefine and consequently adapt my area of study.

I found the powerpoint useful too. It's true that it must be better to search with narrow perimeters and hopefully this will bring up more relevant stuff to read.

I found the Powerpoint useful. I'm a bit concerned because I have used a text which is more than 10 years old - I hope i have justified this enough in my narative. Luckily I am quite methodoical in my research planning so I am quite good at keep refernces and this does save time. I'm glad that Amazon is listed a good source of information becuase it really is - not just for research projects.
